Monitoring for adaptive management

Data about koala population and habitat is collected from around the country in a variety of methods, calibrated and fed back to inform local, regional and national management programs.

Many communities have close connections to their koala populations and have spent decades monitoring them. The program will engage with these communities to ensure that their data is integrated and that their participation is ongoing.
